One of our data centers is experiencing outages Tuesday morning as part of a widespread issue impacting major network providers including Comcast, AT&T, Time Warner, and Verizon. Please note that this is not an issue with the server you may be hosted on; but rather other aspects of the global internet are at play here.
At this time, Ashworth Consulting servers are not down. They’re up, running fast, and some of the world can access your hosted website. It’s only some who cannot.
Our network vendor is keeping customers in the loop as to what is going on, and said it is currently communicating with a number of major providers to get more information on the outages across the US. They are also directing customers to downdetector.com to see which connectivity providers are affected.
While some customers have asked if the outage was connected to the flooding in Michigan on Monday night, where they are company is based, it has confirmed that that is not the case and that the issue is way more far-reaching than Michigan alone.
In a situation like this, our vendor said it would typically reroute traffic, but it is being hindered by the amount of providers that are experiencing outages. Its network team is seeing if it can shift traffic to other providers, but since its most prevalent providers are affected, it is making things difficult.
“As ongoing issues aren’t directly related to any of our infrastructure, we are trying to get more information as well. We’re in the process of communicating with several providers and will relay any updates the second we receive them.”
This is just one of many outage areas today, and several areas of the US are affected.
